Ranieri: Continue To Play Like A Team
Ranieri’s outfit last term showed a remarkable fighting spirit to guide the Club to a sensational Premier League title, putting their heart and soul into every performance.
And with England’s top flight likely to be as competitive as ever, the Foxes boss has called on his players to again show their mettle this term – starting at Hull City on Saturday. “Our strength is a different strength.
I believe they (Premier League opponents) have a lot of quality - more than us - but we are a team,” Ranieri said. “On Sunday we lost a match [against Manchester United]. We were a team but [Zlatan] Ibrahimović was there and we lost the Community Shield. I want my players to fight and show their best quality and we want to be a team.
“If there is a champion who invents something, what can we do? The other teams are fantastic champions. We have good players and a fantastic team and we have to continue to be a team.”
A total of five new signings – Ahmed Musa, Luis Hernandez, Nampalys Mendy, Ron-Robert Zieler and Bartosz Kapustka – could potentially make their debuts on Saturday at the KCOM Stadium, and the City boss revealed they have already understood his philosophy well.
“Now it’s important to link very well together. All the new players understand my philosophy,” Ranieri said ahead of Saturday’s clash with Hull. “They work hard during training and for me I’m very pleased to watch them to try and give us the same spirit.”
