Kagame wants closer ties with Tz

Rwandan president Paul Kagame who is in Tanzania for a two-day visit has called upon economic consolidation between the two countries, hailing the two nations with abundance of natural resources enough to boost the economic growth.
He urged public and private sector to work together for the benefit of the people in the two countries endowed with abundant natural resources which can contribute heavily to the growth of its economy
He also pointed out that the two countries have been collaborating to remove unnecessary trading barriers to boost integration between the two countries and between the regional states.
His host, president John Magufuli said trade in Tanzania contributes for less than five percent to the world economy while the EAC regional bloc contributes 20 per cent.
According to him, Europe, Asia and South America contribute 70, 52 and 50 percent respectively to the world economy.
"Trading among East African countries is still down. May be it is because we sell raw materials, no advertisements, not versed with business, no cooperation among ourselves," he said.
The Minister for Industry and Trade, Charles Mwijage said that Tanzania is well prepared in improving and advertising investment opportunities as well as learning technology from other countries.
